What is Green City?

Who is behind the project?

An independent civic initiative — with no political affiliation and no commercial interest. The platform is open to any resident and any environmental organization.

How is it different from Change.org?

Change.org only collects signatures. Here, each signature threshold triggers an official procedure: 5,000 signatures oblige City Hall to respond, 10,000 — a public hearing. Plus we have a tree map with a passport for every tree — something that does not exist in the region.

How do signature thresholds work?

100 signatures → the petition is published. 1,000 → it enters the platform public registry. 5,000 → an official request to City Hall, which must respond. 10,000 → a mandatory public hearing at City Hall.

What does "authority response" mean?

When a petition reaches the official threshold, City Hall receives the request, and its response is published directly on the petition page — transparently, dated, visible to all.

How do I start a petition?

Register, click "Start a petition", fill in the form (title, description, district, location, signature target) and publish. Takes ~5 minutes.

How are signatures protected from fraud?

Each signature is tied to an email-verified account. We are working on integration with MPass / e-ID (the state electronic signature), which will make petitions legally valid.

Is my personal data safe?

Yes. When a petition is exported to PDF for City Hall, the personal data of signers is NOT included — only the total number of verified signatures. Privacy is a priority.

Do I need to register to sign?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Signing, voting and commenting are only available after registration — this protects against bots and fake signatures.

What is a tree passport?

Every tree in the registry has a passport: species, age, height, trunk diameter, location and phytosanitary category (I–VI). Click a tree on the map to see it.

What do the map colors mean?

🟢 Healthy · 🟡 Under watch · 🔴 Threatened with cutting · ⚫ Dry (cutting priority). This instantly shows which trees should be cut first (dry ones) and which are threatened without justification.

Question 12

Can I report a threatened tree?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you see a living tree being cut or a dangerous tree, you can flag it on the map, add a photo and start a protection petition right from the map.
